The Kentucky Consumer Conference is an annual gathering of over 400 individuals living with
mental illness from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
KYSTARS is so excited to be having this year's conference live and also available virtually for folks that can’t attend in-person. We have been through two years of stress, loss, anxiety and isolation. It feels incredible to be able to offer an in-person conference for those comfortable with attending. We will be following all CDC guidelines in place at the time of the Conference.
If we’ve learned anything from the COVID-19 pandemic, we have certainly come to understand the importance of the Human Connection. That’s what peers do so well. The benefits of an individual’s Connection with family, friends, providers, the community, supportive strangers and of course, a wonderful PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST, cannot be underestimated. Connection is our focus as we emerge from the pandemic and is also the theme of this year’s KYSTARS Kentucky Consumer Conference.
We, once again, will offer workshops geared toward all Consumers, Kentucky Peer Support Specialists, those working in Consumer Operated Service Programs, Substance Use Programs and several for PSS Supervisors and co-workers. All conference workshops are approved for continuing education credits for KY Peer Support Specialists. This will be a HYBRID Conference, so if you are uneasy with the thought of attending in-person, you will be able to access some workshops through our live stream.
